Proposal Abstract
In June 2018 a new dawn appeared for the Career and Experiential Learning Department as we received an OER grant to write a department textbook. Bright eyed and eager to start, our ideas hit the ground running in a variety of directions. Determined to find the right path, we planned a 2 day writing retreat and miraculously had 8 authors and 3 facilitators attend. This presentation covers best practices for retreats and outcomes aligned with writing an OER textbook with multiple authors and editors. We’ll cover the dirty details on finding focus, retreat activities, setting timelines/outcomes, and herding cats while achieving a common goal.
