Abstract

The library website is a crucial platform for research, outreach, policy, and general information. But is there a general consensus about what a website includes, what it is used for, and what a good one should look like?

This presentation will use data from a 2019 exploratory survey of website users to discuss uses and perceptions of the library website from a wide variety of user groups. We will also discuss how a general (and possibly inevitable) loose conception of the website's purpose ultimately limit usability.
