The Symposium for All Interior Library Staff (SAILS) is a conference designed for all library employees, organized by Thompson-Nicola Regional Library and Thompson Rivers University Library employees.
The second annual SAILS will take place on April 27, 2020.
Session proposals are now open for the Symposium for All Interior Library Staff (SAILS). Our theme for 2020 is All Hands on Deck: Engaging and Serving our Communities. What does engagement look like in your library? This can be anything from encouraging participation in a workshop to reaching out to underserved patrons. How do you contribute to serving your communities? What are unique ways that you serve your community?
We welcome all proposals that explore how and why we engage with local communities, how service models reflect engagement, and how programming like classes or storytime supports those in our communities. We also welcome proposals that discuss library employee engagement.
We encourage proposals from all staff groups and others working with library partners, from experienced presenters to first-time speakers. Session lengths will be 30, 45, or 60 minutes long.
To submit a proposal for the 2020 SAILS conference, complete the submission form by January 24, 2020 (Submit Proposal on the right). You will need to create a free Digital Commons account to submit. You will be asked to provide a 250-word abstract for your proposed session. The conference fees will be waived for all SAILS presenters.
Contact Erin May if you have any issues with submitting.
