Abstract

This paper explores how, why, and to what extent irreligion was passed on within Pacific Northwest families from the early 20thcentury to the present. Drawing on in-depth oral interviews and statistical sources, it gives particular attention to the ways in which class and gender shaped the intergenerational transmission of irreligion in the region.
